Learner Driver Program
At Pheasant Wood Circuit, we believe confidence behind the wheel starts with the right foundations.
Our Learner Driver Program gives young people the opportunity to develop essential driving skills in a safe, controlled environment ~ away from the pressures of public roads and everyday traffic.
Learning to drive can be a big step for both young drivers and their parents. That’s why our program welcomes young drivers from 12 years of age, giving them the chance to begin building confidence, vehicle awareness and practical driving skills before they venture onto public roads.
Parents are encouraged to be part of the experience too, helping make those first driving lessons positive, relaxed and enjoyable.

Pheasant Wood Triple Challenge
Three ways to compete ~ one great day of grassroots motorsport.
The Pheasant Wood Circuit Triple Challenge gives competitors the choice of how they want to race. Will you enter the Sprints, take on the 2 Hour Enduro, or go all in and compete in the Combined Challenge.

SPRINTS ONLY
Put yourself and your car to the test with sprint racing throughout the day. It’s all about driver skill, consistency and getting the most out of your car.
2 HOUR ENDURO ONLY
Grab your mates and take on two hours of endurance racing. Strategy, consistency and teamwork are just as important as outright speed as you battle it out to the chequered flag.
COMBINED ~ SPRINTS + 2 HOUR ENDURO
Want the complete challenge? Enter both the Sprints and the 2 Hour Enduro and compete across both disciplines for the ultimate Pheasant Wood Circuit challenge.
Car & Driver Requirements
- For the Sprints, competitors can enter as individual drivers.
- For the 2 Hour Enduro, you’ll need two or more mates to form your team.
- Eligible cars must be four-seat production vehicles manufactured between 1986–2024 with an engine capacity of 2 litres or less.
- Cars must be fitted with the required roll cage and four-point racing harness.

Why we are named Pheasant Wood
Corporal Herbert Thomas Bolt, nicknamed "Nutsy" was killed in action on the 20th July 1916 in Fromelles, France, when the British called upon the Anzacs to help fight the Germans during WW1.
Nutsy left his young wife and new baby behind in Sydney and sailed to Egypt where he trained intensely for many months before arriving at the battlefront in the north of France.
Nutsy had only one battle, he and his fellow hero's contested Australia's bloodiest ever fight resulting in over 5300 deaths or casualties within 12 hours.
Nutsy was a born fighter, a passionate footballer and boxer.
Corporal Frank Johnston fought alongside Nutsy on that terrible night, Frank survived and wrote this in his diary:
"Nutsy killed more than 6 Germans with his Bayonet and the butt of his rifle, when he got a bullet through the forehead. He fell instantly, being killed outright. He was as game as any man"
When the track was rebuilt we wanted to name it something very special for all to remember a fallen digger.
The Military Cemetery in Fromelles where Herbert Thomas Bolt is laid to rest, is called "Pheasant Wood".
